It's a small world after all...

As I have blogged about before, I thought the objective of Ken Ulman's trip to India as described on the County website was a little odd. Supposedly, the purpose was to lure Indian businesses to Howard County, but there are a bunch of Indian businesses already doing business with and in HoCo already. I noted that if I were a cynical person, I would think that this trip had more to do with Ulman getting his name in the paper and securing some campaign contributions.

Thanks to a "blog post" on the County website, we see that one of the companies that Ulman visited in India is Jaypar. Interestingly enough, Jaypar has office space in the exact same building as Ulman's father's law firm (and I think Ken Ulman had office space there at one time, too). Why would the Executive need to travel halfway around the world on the taxpayer's dime to visit a company that he could take a flight of stairs to next time he visited his old man for lunch? This might be innocent, but given the alleged purpose of the trip it sure seems suspicious to me.

Suspicious feelings aside, it sounds that the trip was informative.

Let's see if the trip was productive, by paying our own visit to this subject, 6 months, maybe a year from how.

The proof of the pudding will be in the rice ( as in rice pudding)
