More stuff the library does not have

I wanted to expand my knowledge of our health care system, and I came across two books that I was interested in reading. Neither one of them is at the Howard County Library.

1. The Cure: How Capitalism Can Save American Health Care

and for a counterpoint to the above...

2. Howard Dean's Prescription for Real Health Care Reform

Way to be relevant, Howard County Library.

Did you ever think, if Capitalism could have saved health care it would have.

Is Howard Dean's prescription any better than what yours would be, or is it that no one will listen to you.

Capitalism has not failed health care, it hasn't even been tried for health care. Health care is the most heavily regulated industry out there. But let me spin your argument around on you: did you ever think that if a bunch of politicians could save health care, they would have?

the library doesn't have those books because it doesn't want people to know what's in them - obviously a vast left wing conspiracy - obviously

I am not suggesting any sort of conspiracy, so please don't put words in my mouth. I am merely suggesting that the inventory at the library sucks. If you have read this blog at all, you would know that I am not a right winger or a left winger.

Politicians would have saved Health Care, if it were not for the health care insurance companies(Capitalism).

Fairy dust would have saved health care, were it not for those elves that live in mushrooms in the forest. Aren’t baseless claims fun?

We can dust the faries, any way we want, but who benefits from physician shortages, capitalism
or politicians.
Who benefits from not pooling insurance coverage for small companies. Capitalism
Who benefits from not providing precondition coverage. Capitalism
Who benefits from not reforming tort law. Capitalism.
Capitalism loves mushrooms, like capitalism, mushrooms grow best in the dark.

Anon, most of things you cite as a benefit to Capitalism (I think you really mean a benefit to private business) are the direct result of government action. The shortage of physicians is the most obvious example of that. Government creates barriers to entry in the medical field through licensure.

The shortage is due to the extreme educational expense, not licensure.
Licensure is a measure of proficiencey, not a way to restrict those who are qualified.

Government has no reason to restrict, other than politicians wanting to receive campaign donations from insurance companies, and lawyers who don't want tort reform.

Capitalism is paying for the business advantages I have listed.
Politicans are just the middle man, and government takes the fall.

Did you know you can request the library purchase these books? You can ask in person at the branch or submit a request online.

They don't sell popcorn with their movies, this is a real problem.

The government must expect the citizen to do everything for them selves. What is our country coming to.

Wow, 7:52. That is a really dumb comment.
