Constructive Ranting

At a $75 a ticket breakfast to benefit 9A Delegate Warren Miller, a high level state republican asked how many republicans were on Facebook. He seems to think that the reason the Dems cleaned their clocks is in part due to ineffective way in which the Reps used the internet to get out their message.

When it comes to teaching error, being a bad teacher is a virtue. Similarly, when it comes to getting out a bad message, poor use of communication is good. What message do they want to get out? Vote for us so we can legislate the bible? Vote for us so we can take away a woman’s right to choose? Vote for us so we can tell you who you can legally marry? Vote for us so we can continue to waste your money supporting the war on drugs? Even if many of them are against wasteful spending, it is hard to climb on board their wagon when they just worship the state in other ways.

I am exactly the type of dude that the Reps should not be alienating. I don’t buy into the liberal fiscal policies of the Dems, but I see no reasonable alternative in the Reps. Take that for what its worth.

list the faults you find with the Dems, Thanks

They, as a party, share many of the same faults with the Reps (like support of the war on drugs, for example.) They also blindly support unions, the monopoly on public schools, government intrusion in financial markets, wasteful spending etc.

I dislike both parties equally.

I don't agree with all of your issues, especially the abortion issue, and it would take to long to debate about it here and now, but I must give you props for at least being equally critical of the politicians on both sides of the aisle. Someday, maybe there will be a viable third party candidate who can give voters a choice beside the 2 mainstream parties, which typically ends up being a vote for the lesser of two evils.

pzguru, why not you, as a third party candidate. The field is open.

Jim,
Is it true your running for State Senate in District 9?

I haven't filed, but I have been encouraged by a number of people, Dems, Reps, and Independents,

I think District 9 wants to see change.

I would like to see others run, so that even Independents have a choice for someone out side the main parties.

I believe providing choice is good for our political system, and not just for the parties, but as it should be,for the voter.

A 9A delegate seat might be easier to win than a senate seat, but I believe there are already two potential candidates building a war chest of funds to go for those two seats.

Kittleman will be a tough opponent.

There are 4 people building their 9A district war chest for the delegate seats. It will be an interesting run.

Kittleman, yea tough, but not impossible.
