Isn't it ironic, don't ya think...

A new study finds that ignorance and hatred costs Maryland taxpayers $3.2 million dollars a year.

As I have stated in the past, it is completely stupid to regulate marriage. It makes no difference if you are gay, straight, or other. Quite simply, the government has no business to license marriage. If individual churches want to restrict marriage, that is perfectly fine. But the government has no business doing so.

I can only assume that our fiscally conscience delegates from district 9A will work diligently to legalize gay unions so that Maryland can extort this additional tax revenue. Unless of course, they have other reasons for maintaining the illegal status of gay unions. So, Bates and Miller, why are you working to deny Maryland this economic benefit?

FM,

I'm with you 100% on this one. The financial angle is great - kind of silly, but great all the same :)

I believe in God, I believe God created me, God created you Free Market, and all the other people living, and those who are no longer living and those who will live in the future. It is my believe that God created the whole Universe, so that would include even those who are gay.

God did an extremely good job.

Counter to what many try to tell me, I don't believe God created the Church, or churchs, or any other institutions of faith. I believe this as I believe that God did not create governments.

These are man made entities, the job was not as well done.

My point is that we, God's children should express compassion for individuals like Bates and Miller. Their view is tunneld through small minds created by man made entities, they can't see the forest for the trees, or Universe for the votes.

Compassion, sure. Tolerance, no. Let’s be careful not to confuse criticism with hostility. Biller is free to believe in whatever they want to: smurfs, gremlins and all. That does not meant that we should sit by while they use the force of government to legislate the bible, thereby denying freedoms to others. We should not be tolerant of intolerance.

I am not ready to march in protest, but I do agree, there should not be any level of tolerance when the issue deals with freedom.

My bigger concern is not Gail and Warren, it is the absence of any expression of concern by the people who vote them into office.

I agree.

Did Warren Miller and Gail Bates do something to you Freemarket? Seems to me the one with the hatred in their heart is not Miller or Bates, but you.

Uh, OK. I am advocating for freedom, and suddenly I am accused of having hatred in my heart. Yeah. Seems as if you too are confusing criticism with hostility.
