And your little dog, too!

The Howard County Times may have partially answered a question that many folks have had in regards to the Plaza Tower. At what point during construction is the building a “done deal”, i.e. immune from any legal maneuverings by NIMBY’s and NIMCBY’s (not in my constituents’ back yard), a la Mary Kay Sigaty? From the horse’s mouth:

[A Tower opponent] claimed this week that WCI officials have not made a sufficient offer to the residents, adding that once the Plaza's foundation is built he will no longer be able to challenge the project legally.

"Once the foundation is built, we're dead," he said.

Based on that, it sounds like once the foundation is built, only Mary Kay and the rest of the Council can stop the Tower. How long would it take to build a foundation to support 23 stories? Two weeks tops? I have to hand it to those who are challenging the Tower; they have had every legal setback but yet they continue to attempt to block the project. Heck, they don’t even have legal standing and they haven’t given up. Talk about a sense of entitlement. That reminds me, my house has a view of a beautiful farm. I need to start lobbying Greg Fox to make sure that the farm will never be developed, thus ruining my view. Mwuaaaaaaahhhh.

I noticed that, in addition to the construction equipment, there is a porta-pot on the Tower site. When the porta-pot arrives, they are ready to roll. David Wissing has more details, including pics, here.

I saw a few additional pieces of construction equipment on my way home today as I drove by, but missed the porta-pot. Those things aren't cheap to rent, so they must be starting soon....

Don't forget that the Plaza will have a parking garage, which is a mighty big hole to be dug.
