Priorities

There is a good debate going on here about the Plaza Tower. However, lawmakers in Annapolis are debating much more important issues than the future of Columbia. Our lawmakers are currently debating whether to ban the plastic testicles that some folks like to hang from their automobiles.

Is this Gail Bates' new pet project? Save the world from homosexuals and plastic gonads.

Do we not have better issues to address?

Man, I love those things. My old neighbor had a pair that he had drawn little hairs on. That's committment.

Anyone know where I can get some for my Honda Civic? Yeah, I'm a badass.

I just attended the "Choose Civility" lecture by Dr. P. M. Forni, held at HCC this past Thursday. The concept that energized me most that civility should always be an option.

When folks attempt to legislate civility, we're in trouble: as one person's definition of incivility might well be another's definition of free speech.

One of Dr. Forni's closing statements included a definition of civility at "Obeying the Unenforceable." I like that!

BTW, the county has started "an initiative" on the subject of civility. I'm curious to see what unfolds ...
