Hey, thanks for the info. I'm not in an HOA (beyond Columbia, that is!) I wouldn't know what 200 feet look like as I am very challenged in thinking spatially. But my guess is that the 200-ft rule pretty much makes it impossible to have chickens if you live in the "get your quarter-acre lots right here" suburbs.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7642929222753173260.post-21320677388890777212010-05-23T08:58:30.028-05:002010-05-23T08:58:30.028-05:00I wonder where her Democrat opponent stands on Hea...I wonder where her Democrat opponent stands on Healthy Howard. HoCo also limits the number of chickens allowed (and in past rulings, has relied on the recommendations of the American Heart Association to determine what constitutes an allowable number).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7642929222753173260.post-56123043526694883452010-05-21T09:07:49.078-05:002010-05-21T09:07:49.078-05:00Hi Jessie- in Columbia's New Town Zoning, I do...Hi Jessie- in Columbia's New Town Zoning, I don't think chickens are allowed. But in regular zoning in the rest of the county it's OK but your coop has to be something like 200 feet from your neighbor's house. Beehives are subject to this same law, which is what ZRA 117 is seeking to change.

Btw, if you want to see some awesome chicken coops, go to Myers Mini-Barns in Lisbon. That's where I got mine, and it's totally awesome. I'd like to live in it.Freemarketnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7642929222753173260.post-51674010547256680672010-05-21T08:34:12.624-05:002010-05-21T08:34:12.624-05:00Squatting, am I, on your post.
